Academic Director

A very warm welcome to academic year 2019-2020!

As always, we commit ourselves to provide our students with a safe and stimulating learning environment, with enough opportunities to develop holistically into well-balanced, dignified and compassionate globally competent citizens.

Our program is based on the California Curriculum with the essential 21st century skills integrated to provide a rich learning experience. With the ever-evolving global demands, our program is designed to empower our students to develop agility to survive in a globally diverse environment.

Our students deserve only the best, therefore, our aim for 2019-2020 is to strengthen our program and curriculum and invest in more relevant resources and study materials for both students and teachers.

As a WASC accredited school, SJMIS keeps standards high by continuous assessment of student learning, curriculum and assessment, facilities, health and safety, resources, staffing and more. After the last WASC visit in March 2019, our accreditation status was confirmed until 2021 when WASC will visit us for a full self-study audit.

Let us keep our eyes on our vision to “challenge students to reach their academic, moral and social potential in order to become leaders in their generation, ready to impact others.”

As Jean Piaget, one of the pioneers in child development and education, once said: “The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing new things.”

May academic year 2019-2020 be a memorable one.
